Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is here, but fans are wondering when the much-anticipated DMZ mode will be made available.
Considered a passion project by Infinity Ward, DMZ was revealed during the Call of Duty: Next event in September. Details have been relatively scarce about DMZ, but Infinity Ward did reveal that this would be an extraction mode that rewards players with gear that could be used in Warzone 2 matches.
Official details may be few and far between for this mode, but there have been recent leaks that have suggested that DMZ will offer an experience akin to the survival shooter Escape From Tarkov. Specifically, the leaker stated that DMZ would have players navigate objectives in which they could lose any items that they equipped. This would give players a more tactical experience to enjoy.
When Does COD DMZ Come Out?
Activision revealed in a blog post that DMZ will release alongside Warzone 2.0 on Nov. 16. This joint release makes sense as both modes are closely linked in that items and gear earned in DMZ can be used in Warzone 2.0. Time will tell if this new addition to the Call of Duty battle royale experience will be able to capture the hearts of fans or push them away.
Although DMZ and Warzone 2.0 are still making their way to their release date, players can still enjoy the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on all major platforms.
