Vikings: Madden 23 rating absolutely savages Kirk Cousins

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins should be furious over his sorry Madden 23 rating.

When it comes to being disrespected, few quarterbacks get the short end of the stick more often than Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings.

He may not be the coolest signal-caller in the NFL today, but he wins plenty of games and puts up great numbers, year after year after year. So when it came to giving out quarterback ratings in Madden 23, the popular EA Sports franchise only views him as QB16 with an overall rating of 80.

Yes, Madden gave Deshaun Watson, who has not played in a year, a higher rating than Cousins…

Dang video games aside, Cousins is far better than the 16th best quarterback in the league today.

Madden 23 savages Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins with overall rating

Of the 14 quarterbacks who will lead their team to the playoffs this season, expect for Cousins to be one of them, especially in a weakened NFC. Of the eight quarterbacks who win division titles, Cousins is certainly in the mix for that in the NFC North. Though the Green Bay Packers loom large in-division, Minnesota might have the better roster man-to-man over their bitter NFC North rivals.

Even if Cousins' Madden 23 is only an 80, he is more than capable throwing the ball to the likes of Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Irv Smith Jr. for six, as well as handing the ball off to Dalvin Cook. It is only a video game, but Cousins could be on the precipice of one of his greatest seasons in the NFL out of Michigan State. He finally has a head coach and organization who believes in him.

Cousins famously overcame perpetual dysfunction in Washington. One franchise tag after another, he made his way to the Twin Cities. While Minnesota is the far more functional franchise, he and former head coach Mike Zimmer never saw eye-to-eye. Vaccination status aside, Cousins is too good of a quarterback to throw to the wayside. He might have the Vikings back in the playoffs.

Should Cousins use his lousy Madden 23 rating as fuel for his fire, rival teams may not like that.
