The Last of Us HBO show's release date has yet to be firmly nailed down, but the show's creators say we won't have too long to wait. Based on the most recent information we've yet received from HBO, the highly anticipated adaptation is scheduled for release in early 2023.
The Last of Us HBO Release Date
The Last of Us HBO show began shooting in Canada back in April 2021. The shoot ran for 13 months, and the show is now in post-production. HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys told the Hollywood Reporter the show would arrive "closer to early 2023," in an interview conducted in July 2022.
Bloys had previously told Deadline the show was "not going to air in 2022," and "I imagine you will see it in '23."
A premiere date has yet to be set, but fans of The Last of Us will at least have The Last of Us Part 1 to tide them over once the game hits store shelves Friday, Sept. 2.
