MLB The Show 22 July Monthly Awards are right around the corner with fans already completing a good portion of Stage 1 for those Topps Now items.
SIE San Diego Studios revealed right after the June Monthly Awards program that Craig Biggio would be the Flashback Lightning Player following in the steps of Chris Sale. Fans who waited anxiously to see who would get July's Lightning item now have an answer: Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley.
Riley, who just signed a 10-year extension with the Braves, lead all of MLB in extra base hits (26), wRc+ (267) and WAR (2.6) in July.

Riley's Lightning card comes in at 99 overall and looks to be an absolute monster. Fans have the Lightning Rafael Devers from earlier in the game cycle to platoon at third as well with the two combining for arguably the strongest platoon in the game.
Riley should have monster power across the board against both lefties and righties plus strong defense. Braves fans building theme teams can pair him with All-Star Dansby Swanson for the best possible left-sided infield.
Players will have to complete Stages 1 through 3 to get Riley once he's made available. We'll keep you up to date when objectives and Moments are released in game.
